No Snow In Albany...Just fun!

There was no snow in Albany, NY this year…just a fun time!  The annual Albany Sons and Maids Valentine’s Day dance was held this weekend.  I was fortunate to attend!  I got to see old friends and meet new friends over the weekend.

Grand Governor Deanna Socaris is from Albany, NY and graciously allowed Grand Vice President Angela Armstrong and myself to stay at her house on Friday night.  We were able to relax before a fun Greek night with her dog Griffy.  He kind of resembles my wild dog Jack, so it was like I was still in Charleston!

Saturday Angela and I competed in a bowling tournament.  Our team included Yianni Googas, Sons of Pericles member and honorary Maid, and Sia Zois, Past Grand President of the Maids of Athena.  We played a good game and won third place in the tournament!  I know you are all thinking, “Wow she is not very athletic.  How could she have gotten third place?”  But I have to let you in on a little secret.  I think they only gave it to me because I am the Grand President of the Maids of Athena.

Saturday evening was the annual Valentine’s Day Dance held at the Albany Greek Orthodox Church.  The dance is always a fun time, but this year it was extra special as I was representing the Maids as the Grand President!

Keep a look out for pictures of this event!

I am thankful I got to attend the event and spend time with old friends!  Next up on the Adventure Trail is Greenville, SC for the District 1 Mid-Winter Conference!  I can’t wait to visit my hometown and see all of my friends and family for a weekend of fun!
